Description
Make Your Own Volcano kit science kit was written by qualified scientists in association with the Melbourne Museum.
With this easy, safe and fun kit you can recreate the spectacular sight of an eruption of a mini-Vesuvius in your own home or classroom. Kids will have a blast making the volcano, painting it, and then erupting it.
Five different experiments:
- Make a ‘lava lamp‘
- Learn about viscosity
- Build and erupt a plaster volcano
- Make Your own edible volcanic rock (honeycomb)
- Replicate a bubbling mud pool
The booklet that is included in the kit is packed with information supplied by the Melbourne Museum scientists. It focusses on the Southern hemisphere, in particular Australia and New Zealand, and explains how volcanoes erupt and where they are located.
Another science kit made in association with the Melbourne Museum is Crystals and Minerals.
