Description
Unicorn points are Natural quartz points that have been heat treated and infused with metallic gases to create these interesting and colourful unicorn points.
The process is called metal vapour deposition and involves:
- Natural clear quartz points are placed in a vacuum chamber and heated to extreme temperatures. Vaporized precious metals (such as titanium, gold, indium, or platinum) are introduced into the chamber.
- The metallic atoms bond permanently to the surface of the crystal at a molecular level. This creates a brilliant, iridescent, and multi-colored metallic sheen across the stone’s natural facets.
